Combined with a 12th ratio, this means the XG-1290 provides a wider gear range, with more gradual progression between ratios; each cassette has at least five one-tooth jumps between cogs.The wider range and 10-tooth start mean that when used with the new Red AXS DUB chainsets, the XG-1290 can be used with smaller chainrings to offer the same equivalent gears, with a 50t chainring providing the equivalent gear of a 55t chainring when used with a regular cassette with an 11t start. The one-piece machined steel X-Dome construction means the XG-1290 is lightweight durable and shifts smoothly, even under heavy load.
